The New Orleans Jazz Fest usually offered two posters for sale to fans of each year, the annual New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival poster and a poster celebrating the area of the Congo Square festival.
But according to an email received editor Art4Now poster Inc. on Thursday (February 12), the music festival will not produce a poster Congo Square in 2015.
The email said the decision was made in honor of the late Theodore Mardi Gras Indian chief "Bo" Dollis, on the poster Jazz Fest this year.
As explained in the email:
"We will be publishing a poster Congo Square this year. Big Chief Bo Dollis covered the essence of the Jazz Festival and the spirit of the Plaza Congo. As a monument to the Great Leader, who died on January 20, we are reducing our flag at half-mast and allowing portrait poster 2015 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Bo Dollis by Randy (Frenchy) Frechette to stand alone. "
